Instructions for Bloggers

The sexualitystudies.net blog is a place where new content will appear every few weeks or so.

The aim is to present well considered and well argued articles on various issues relevant to the study of sexuality. The fact that it is a blog means that our peers, the users of the site, can comment on and discuss the postings that we make.

A Blog posting can be:
• A short review of a small section of key literature in the field of sexuality studies
• A thoughtful response to a significant current issue
• A reflection upon a lack or absence in the field of critical sexuality studies
• A piece of reportage that is theoretically informed

The most important thing to consider when blogging is that all contributions are “up for discussion”. (Often polemic or controversial posts elicit most discussion – so don’t hold back!)

It is best to write posts in an accessible, non-academic style and keep references to an absolute minimum. There are no strict rules about length, but we suggest 500 to 1000 words as a guide.

We welcome postings, or ideas for postings from anyone who is interested. If you or a friend or colleague have a passion about a particular issue and would like to propose an entry, please get in touch. You can either submit a complete posting for consideration or you can get in touch with a proposal that we will make suggestions upon.

All blog postings and responses are moderated. If you write a posting it may be edited for clarity and length.

Most importantly, enjoy the writing!
