Hello everyone, welcome to the group and thanks for signing up.
This group is a forum for sharing ideas and resources about teaching and learning in the field of sexuality studies.
At the moment I am involved in developing a curriculum for a short course on sexuality theory and research methodology. A number of group members met recently in Perth to advance this agenda. We had a great meeting and many terrific ideas were generated. Now it's time for the hard work of writing!
One of the issues to come out of that discussion was the importance of thinking about pedagogy in the way we teach and learn. Sexuality is a personal/private issue as well as a political issue and it is only by connecting the two can we teach effectively for social change. I'm wondering what experiences people have of achieving change by addressing the personal and the political simultaneously. What strategies did you use?
