ABIA is a non-governmental organisation founded in 1987 that has confronted the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Brazil by providing assistance and access to medical treatment for, and advocating the human rights of, those who live with HIV or AIDS. More recently, ABIA has also started working on public policies, education, and prevention strategies associated with HIV/AIDS.
