Forum for Human Rights and Public Health-Nepal (Friendship-Nepal) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit independent public interest organization. Friendship-Nepal works on issues such as human rights, children's rights and education, the environment, public health and preventive health care and support in relation to HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, chronic diseases and drug abuse. Friendship-Nepal works with marginalized and socially excluded communities and individuals, such as those who have been uprooted or displaced, or those who are specially-abled, with a special focus on women, children and elderly people. It is dedicated to working in suburban and rural areas where needs are particularly significant. Friendship-Nepal maintains formal working relationships with national and international human rights and public health organizations.
Friendship-Nepal was officially registered in 2006, and the current team consists of seven board members, including social workers, a human rights activist, a community health worker, teachers and journalists.
