Duke's program in the study of sexualities has two domains. The first is a certificate program for undergraduates in sexuality studies. (The certificate at Duke involves 6 courses; it is a kind of interdisciplinary minor.) The second domain of SXL is a dynamic series of programs and events. For example, the 2008-09 year has a series on Transnational Sexualities, including a conference on India, Sexuality, and Archives in February. For more information, contact the director or visit our website.
Duke's program is interdisciplinary, with courses on primate sexuality and across campus. The strength of the program lies with Duke's reputation for queer theory and explorations of the social construction of sexuality and more recently a focus on transnational sexuality studies.
